My first reaction: My son colored a livery on this fire truck!
This might just be my imagination, but that's what I choose to think!

As a soon to be father, I think you're getting excited over something that everyone else goes "meh" about. However, ask me in a few years how I feel about my kids first art and I'll be like, "DaVinci? Fuck DaVinci!"

It's that moment of "Holy shit, my child is displaying signs of being an actual human!"
I figure parents just spend so much time with something less adapted to its own survival than a lemming that any time the kid displays something approaching competence, it's a big fucking deal.
...actually, it's the same reaction that makes people love old british cars.
"Edna! Come quick! THE CAR STARTED!"

You better not be comparing my son to Lucas electronics! Lol
Mostly it's me hoping he inherits my love of cars, but all I can do is show him by example.

I was going to mention that, but short term memory went around the 8th can of red bull. That glimmer of hope that a child will be interested in the things you think are cool.
